UptownBasel: An innovative campus with a strong impact
The Schorenareal in Arlesheim is being transformed into a Centre for Industry 4.0 with uptownBasel. By 2027, state-of-the-art working environments will have been set up here for 50 companies and 2000 professionals. The first building already boasts flexible architecture, future-proof technology, and an intelligent lighting solution provided by Zumtobel.
Dynamic lighting for maximum flexibility
To meet the adaptable room concepts, uptownBasel relies on Zumtobel's modular TECTON continuous-row lighting system. Hundreds of metres of tracks allow for simple adjustment of lighting – from high-performance continuous-row luminaires in production areas to glare-free MIREL luminaires for focused work in offices.
Sustainability as a guiding principle
From architecture to lighting, uptownBasel focuses on sustainable solutions. Zumtobel’s intelligent lighting controls reduce power consumption by automatically adapting to daylight. With the SNBS certification, the project establishes new benchmarks for sustainable industrial construction in Switzerland.
Creative spaces, inspiring atmosphere
Innovation needs room to grow. UptownBasel offers break-out zones, well-lit offices, and a green roof terrace for creative exchange. The interplay of natural light, stylish ONDARIA luminaires, and the TECTON system creates a work environment that boosts productivity and well-being.
