Zumtobel at EuroShop 2026: “New Retail” Combines Contextual Intelligence and Customer Experience

Zumtobel at EuroShop 2026: “New Retail” combines context sensitivity and customer experience
press release
18/11/2025
At EuroShop 2026, Zumtobel will appear as the official partner for the stand lighting of umdasch The Store Makers. The lighting specialists from Dornbirn will equip the stand’s themed areas with innovative lighting solutions. On display at Stand C19 in Hall 12 will be, among others, the TECTON II continuous-row lighting system, the VIVO II spotlight family, the PANOS III luminaire range, the EVIO II panel luminaire, the LITECOM lighting management system, as well as products from sister brand Thorn such as the Arrowslim linear light.
New Retail: Context-driven lighting scenarios enhance the shopping experience and increase basket size
In one area of the stand, Zumtobel will focus its trade fair presence on the integrative “New Retail” solution as a new form of customer engagement in retail. The result is a shopping experience that intuitively guides customers and creates a new kind of shopping journey. Dynamic Retail Lighting, AI, content management, and lighting control are combined into a sensory perception of the environment. This makes it possible to create dynamic and individual marketing and lighting scenarios at the POS based on variables such as time of day, weather conditions, or identified customer groups. No personal data is collected; instead, situations are recognised and, on this basis, experiences are staged and positive emotions are created. All scenarios are controlled in real time via cameras, sensors, and a CMS.
New Retail activates, informs, and sensitizes customers to product groups or individual products – maximising the shopping experience, positively influencing purchase decisions and increasing basket size. On a rainy evening, for example, products related to wellness and relaxation are highlighted. The system does not know the visitor – but it supports the situation with a fitting scenario. The interplay of lighting design, neuromarketing, and behavioural psychology results in a flexible, unobtrusive atmosphere that provides orientation and draws attention while creating emotional resonance – the kind of impact that is often “beneath the surface”.
TECTON II: The infrastructure solution for flexible store lighting
Zumtobel’s TECTON II continuous-row lighting system provides seamless general lighting in many stores while also forming the infrastructure for accent lighting. For flexible store concepts or assortment changes, lighting modules, sensors, and accessories can be freely combined and exchanged. The modular system, developed together with Italian design studio and engineering company Pininfarina, also impresses with its rapid tool-free installation as well as its sustainability and circularity – thanks to a high proportion of recycled materials, modular design, and easy refurbishment. With an efficiency of up to 211 lm/W and the use of long-life premium components, the trunking system sets a new benchmark in the market.
As part of the stand’s sustainability concept and to promote the circular economy, the installed TECTON II continuous-row system will be dismantled after EuroShop and reused on Zumtobel’s stand at Light + Building 2026 (Forum 0, Stand A10).
In part of umdasch's stand at EuroShop 2026, Zumtobel focuses on the integrated "New Retail" solution as a new form of customer engagement in brick-and-mortar retail.
