Pioneering lighting solution for sustainable wood-hybrid construction in Memmingen
BTV Vier Länder Bank, in collaboration with Cree GmbH, completed an innovative office building using timber-hybrid construction in the city centre of Memmingen. The goal was to integrate sustainability with modern architecture while simultaneously creating an energy-efficient and comfortable work environment. In addition to ecological construction, the requirements included a high-quality, durable, and user-friendly lighting solution that enhances comfort for employees and clients.
Sustainable lighting concepts for maximum energy efficiency
Zumtobel provided a fully LED-based lighting solution that perfectly integrates into the overall ecological concept. In a building that operates without traditional steel use and depends on a groundwater heat pump and natural ventilation, the lighting technology also needed to satisfy the highest efficiency demands. The lighting solution was designed to functionally support work areas, enhance communication zones, and reduce power consumption to a minimum.
Design-driven LED lights for demanding spaces
Among others, the PANOS evolution downlights were used, providing pleasant, uniform lighting in the lobby, reception area, and kitchenette. The slender AXON pendant luminaire visually elongates the rooms and imparts a sense of lightness to meeting areas. In the underground car park, SLOTLIGHT infinity ensures optimal orientation. The LINETIK free-standing luminaire is particularly outstanding, impressing with its minimalist design and maximum lighting comfort, and is individually controllable for each workplace.
Technological innovation meets ecological responsibility
Individual adjustments to the luminaires were not necessary – rather, the focus was on the consistent implementation of sustainable technologies. Zumtobel's LED luminaires offer a particularly long lifespan, reduce maintenance costs, and significantly lower energy consumption. Through the targeted use of high-quality, efficient lighting technology, the building becomes not only an architectural showcase but also an ecological model in the urban environment.
