Authentic lighting concept for emotional fan experiences

Zumtobel, in collaboration with a·g Licht and DULA Ladenbau, developed a tailored lighting concept that seamlessly integrates function and experience. An authentic lighting atmosphere noticeably highlights the club's identity and enhances the quality of guest's visits. Dynamic accent lighting guides visitors through the spaces and strategically showcases fan merchandise.

A hands-on stadium experience

With the new BVB FanWelt, Borussia Dortmund has created a modern brand experience at Signal Iduna Park that combines emotion, history, and interactivity. Fans can immerse themselves in the world of the club, shop, experience, and linger over an area of more than 2,000 m². The goal was to create an atmosphere that reflects the emotionality of football — supported by a flexible, high-quality lighting solution.

High-quality luminaires for strong brand showcasing

Among other things, custom-made VIVO LED spotlights (3500 K) were used to optimally highlight the BVB colors. DIAMO LED and MICROS LED ensure brilliant accent lighting on the shelves without any light scattering. PANOS infinity Downlights are used in the checkout area, while the ARCOS Xpert spotlights impressively highlight the famous "Yellow Wall". In the lounge, SCONFINE SFERA pendant luminaires create atmospheric lighting with reflective elegance.

Technical highlights and customized specialist solutions

In addition to the standard lighting, custom special solutions were also implemented – including a large-format, dimmable light ceiling above the "Podium of the Giants". The luminaires used offer not only outstanding colour rendering and light quality, but are also flexible and energy-efficient. The lighting concept therefore combines design, functionality, and sustainability in an emotional brand environment.
