Emotional yet efficient lighting installation for the DFB Museum
The DFB Museum in Dortmund is all about the history and highlights of German football. The aim of the project was to provide an emotional yet functional exhibition design using a flexible and energy-efficient lighting solution. Visitors should be able to immerse themselves in the productions through targeted lighting atmospheres — all in the spirit of emotion, dynamism, and sustainability.
Holistic lighting concept with integrated safety lighting
Safety lighting with the ONLITE emergency lighting system, which is used throughout the entire building, is also integrated into the overall concept. Every escape-sign luminaire, every safety luminaire and every general luminaire that functions as a safety luminaire in an emergency is part of the heavily monitored system. General lighting is provided by TECTON continuous row luminaire, PANOS downlights and gimbal-mounted Cardan E1 luminaire modules. The latter are not only defined by their freely movable suspension, they also combine efficient, high-quality lighting with perfect colour rendering.
Sustainable lighting technology instead of custom solutions: LED system lighting
The DFB Museum consciously chose standard solutions with high technical flexibility, since customised development wasn't needed. The focus was on deploying energy-efficient LED technology, combined with modern control systems. The result: an intelligent, sustainable lighting system with reduced power consumption, long lifespan, and minimal maintenance — perfectly geared for future-proof museum lighting.
