Customised lighting solution for the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

The case study on the Faculty of Civil Engineering demonstrates how Zumtobel has enhanced a modern learning environment by using an innovative lighting solution. The goal was to establish optimal visual conditions for students and educators, enhance well-being, and simultaneously ensure energy efficiency and sustainability. The focus was on lighting that flexibly adapts to various usage scenarios in the educational sector and emphasizes the architectural ambition of the building.

Smart lighting control for maximum efficiency and comfort

To fulfill the needs of the users, Zumtobel employed a combination of daylight utilisation and intelligent lighting control. Sensors detect presence and ambient light, allowing the lighting to automatically adjust and maintain optimal lighting conditions at all times. This solution not only enables significant energy savings, but also ensures high visual comfort and supports users' concentration and well-being.

Innovative products for educational institutions

State-of-the-art LED luminaires featuring Tunable White technology and Zumtobel SPECTRUM were used. These products offer a flexible adjustment of light colour and intensity, which is particularly important in educational settings. The optimised spectral light distribution increases concentration, supports the circadian rhythm, and ensures a pleasant atmosphere. Plus, the luminaires are extremely energy-efficient and durable, which significantly reduces operating costs.

Focus on sustainability and future-proofing

A tailored, specialist solution was not necessary for this project, as the technologies used already meet the highest standards of sustainability and flexibility. The lighting solution is based on energy-efficient LED systems, intelligent control, and optimal use of daylight. This not only protects the environment but also reduces operating costs in the long term - an important contribution to the sustainable development of modern educational facilities.
