Intelligent lighting for enhanced comfort in healthcare settings

In collaboration with Wallace Whittle, Zumtobel and Thorn developed a lighting concept that meets functional requirements and enhances the well-being of patients and staff. By employing low-glare luminaires and smart lighting control, a pleasant and energy-efficient atmosphere has been created. The integration of daylight and the ability to adjust the lighting for various usage scenarios enhance the concept's flexibility.

Innovative products for the highest demands in the healthcare sector

The luminaires used included IQ Wave, Chalice, Omega Pro 2, Aquaforce Pro, Voyager Star Emergency, Katona, as well as ONDARIA and PANOS infinity. These products are characterized by their high energy efficiency, longevity, and appealing design. The selection of luminaires was made considering hygiene requirements, simple maintenance, and optimal light distribution in the various areas of the center.

Energy-efficient, hygienic, award-winning – systematic lighting solution

The lighting concept employs energy-efficient LED technology and smart lighting control systems like LITENET to minimize power consumption. Sensors automatically adjust the lighting to the needs, offering additional comfort. The selected luminaires feature smooth surfaces that prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt, thereby enhancing hygiene. The project was awarded the Scottish Design Award 2022 in the "Health Building or Project" category.
