High-quality LED products for optimal light quality.

Various Zumtobel products were utilised in the IZM, including SLOTLIGHT infinity, LIGHT FIELDS, and PANOS INFINITY. These luminaires offer high colour rendering (CRI > 90) and ensure uniform, glare-free illumination of workspaces. The luminaires were custom-sized to seamlessly integrate into the prefabricated building components, facilitating future workplace redesigns.

Modern hydropower centre of excellence with a commitment to sustainability.

The Illwerke Zentrum Montafon (IZM) in Vandans is one of the world's largest office buildings constructed using a hybrid timber construction method. With approximately 10,000 m² of usable space, it serves as a hydropower competence centre for Vorarlberger Illwerke AG. Architect Hermann Kaufmann chose a modular construction system that enabled rapid installation. The goal was to develop an ecologically exemplary building with high-quality workspaces that complies with the passive house standard and is fully heated and cooled using waste heat from electricity production.

Lighting design in harmony with architecture and daylight

Zumtobel developed a bespoke LED lighting solution that integrates seamlessly into the architecture. The lighting was designed to enhance the use of natural daylight while simultaneously offering glare-free, uniform light in the workplace. All luminaires are equipped with daylight and motion sensors to minimize power consumption. Particular attention was paid to integrating the lighting fixtures into the wooden and concrete elements of the building to ensure a seamless aesthetic.

Sustainable technology without compromise

Although no fully custom luminaires were developed, Zumtobel chose sustainable standard solutions with high energy efficiency. The LED luminaires are durable and require little maintenance, which further reduces the building's ecological footprint. All lighting is integrated into the building automation system, which also controls the blinds to optimally regulate light incidence and room temperature. The IZM was awarded the ÖGNI Gold certificate for its sustainable construction.
