Magical brand presentation for children and parents
The Katakeet Concept Store in the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, combines luxurious children's clothing with playful branding. As the building owner, the Chalhoub Group aimed to create a unique shopping experience for both children and adults. The goal was to create a fairytale atmosphere through an emotional store design with charming details, colors, and illustrations by Polly Dunbar. The lighting solution should support this concept by equally conveying emotionality, exclusivity, and comfort.

Emotional lighting, designed with sensitivity
Zumtobel developed a customised lighting solution that highlights the high-quality products while creating a child-friendly, inspiring atmosphere. The combination of accent lighting and harmonious general lighting amplifies the brand experience. Targeted lighting is used to accentuate the designer collections, while soft, glare-free lighting in the space creates a comfortable atmosphere for parents and children - a shopping experience with a comfort factor.
LED products focused on comfort and design
Among other products, IYON spotlights, the modular CARDAN lighting system, SUPERSYSTEM spots, as well as the efficient PANOS infinity and MICROS downlights were utilised. These luminaires combine top-tier light quality with minimalist design – perfect for a setting that merges luxury with ease. With their precise light distribution, they ensure brilliant product presentation, while their energy efficiency and long lifespan help to minimise operating costs.
Sustainability and technology perfectly combined.
The lighting concept emphasises not only visual impact but also energy efficiency and ecological responsibility. The entire lighting system is based on LED technology, known for its power consumption, reduced heat output, and long lifespan. Additionally, the store design was implemented using sustainable materials. An individually customised lighting solution tailored to the brand identity completes the project - a successful combination of technology, sustainability, and emotional appeal.
