Successful lighting solutions in hospitals – enhancing the daily workflow and comfort in hospitals
The project at the Königin Elisabeth Herzberge Hospital in Berlin focused on developing a lighting solution that meets the diverse requirements of the clinic. The goal was to develop efficient and user-friendly lighting that offers comfortable working and living conditions for both clinical staff and patients. In the new "House 100" building in particular, various requirements had to be considered: clear lighting for medical staff, a pleasant atmosphere for patients, and an energy-efficient solution for hospital management.
Innovative lighting control with LITECOM infinity – efficient and user-friendly
To achieve the goals that had been set, Zumtobel implemented the LITECOM infinity lighting management system, which manages all of the lighting in the new "Haus 100" building. The system responds to presence and daylight, making the lighting exceptionally energy-efficient. Thanks to the intuitive control via web applications and touch panels, building and clinic managers can adjust the lights entirely according to the users' needs. This modern technology ensures optimal visual comfort for hospital staff and enhances patient well-being by providing a lighting environment attuned to the natural circadian rhythm.
Innovative lighting design for improved orientation, safety, and well-being.
Zumtobel employed a variety of innovative luminaires in this project to design the hospital environment to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Particularly worth noting are the SEQUENCE pendant luminaire and the ONDARIA round luminaires, which provide pleasant light distribution and increase safety. The elegant design of the SLOTLIGHT infinity is utilised in the corridors, which not only helps with orientation within the building, but also creates a modern ambiance. In the treatment rooms, the LIGHT FIELDS luminaire provides glare-free, high-quality illumination that assists doctors in recognising all details during examinations while simultaneously ensuring optimal patient care.
