Modernisation with light: The Marktoberdorf district office in a new light
The district office in Marktoberdorf underwent comprehensive renovations to create a modern environment that is welcoming to the public. The goal was to enhance the working conditions for staff and highlight the service-oriented nature of the building. By integrating modern lighting solutions, both aesthetics and energy efficiency have been significantly elevated. Power consumption was reduced by 43% while simultaneously improving light quality.
Lighting design is key: efficient lighting for improved working conditions
Lighting design played a central role in the renovation. Nearly 500 meters of the narrow SLOTLIGHT light lines were installed in public areas and traffic routes to ensure uniform ambient brightness. These light lines create a pleasant atmosphere and improve orientation within the building.
Sustainability in focus: Energy-efficient technologies for the future
During the renovation, particular emphasis was placed on sustainability. The modern Zumtobel luminaires require significantly less energy while simultaneously offering superior lighting quality. All luminaires are dimmable and equipped with presence sensors to further optimize power consumption. Other measures such as installing a photovoltaic system, new air conditioning units, and triple-glazed windows were also implemented to ensure the building's operation is sustainable.

Zumtobel used various products to meet the diverse requirements. The SLOTLIGHT light lines offer uniform illumination of traffic routes. LINARIA luminaires create systematic highlights in the corridors and improve orientation. The CLARIS II pendant luminaire provides a pleasant lighting atmosphere in offices with its high efficiency and compliance with glare limitation standards. MICROS LED downlights enhance the lighting design with their subtle and impactful illumination.

To ensure perfect lighting in every situation, the intelligent ZBOX lighting management system has been used. It enables users to create personalized lighting atmospheres – from welcoming brightness when entering, to subtle lighting for watching TV, to focused illumination for working. Four CIRCLE control units ensure intuitive operation in every area of the suite.
