Lighting design for NORDSEE: Strengthening identity, promoting sustainability
As part of an innovative reorientation, fast-food restaurant franchise NORDSEE relied on a holistic lighting concept from Zumtobel to redesign their restaurant in Kassel. The objective was to enhance the brand identity through modern design while simultaneously increasing energy efficiency and sustainability. The lighting requirements included changeable colour shades in the dining area, optimum colour rendering and gentle lighting at the counter as well as first-class illuminance levels in the production area. The innovative store concept should embody the new slogan "NORDSEE The Alternative." .
Flexible lighting design with Tunable White technology
Zumtobel developed a bespoke LED lighting solution that integrates seamlessly into the architecture. In the guest room and lounge, PANOS Infinity luminaires with Tunable White technology create dynamically changing lighting situations depending on the time of day. The colour temperature of the luminaires can be variably set from warm white to cool white and tailored to individual needs. Zumtobel's holistic lighting concept integrates the intuitive Luxmate Emotion lighting management system for easy operation and control of the installation.
High-quality LED products for optimal light quality.
In the NORDSEE Future Store, various Zumtobel products were utilised, including Panos Infinity with Tunable White technology, Cardan LED, and the Luxmate Emotion lighting management system. These luminaires offer excellent colour rendering and ensure uniform, glare-free lighting of workspaces. The efficient LED luminaires consider sustainability requirements and, in addition to energy savings, also offer the benefit of reduced heat emission. This helps to protect the fresh goods stored on ice in the counters.
Lighting solution with a system: energy-efficient, low-maintenance, and flexibly controllable.
Although no fully custom luminaires were developed, Zumtobel still opted for sustainable standard solutions with high energy efficiency. The LED luminaires are durable and require little maintenance, which further minimises the restaurant's environmental impact. All lighting is integrated into the Luxmate Emotion lighting management system, which enables simple control and adjustment of lighting conditions. Zumtobel's holistic approach and innovative solutions integrate all relevant lighting criteria for the new restaurant: providing pleasant and gentle lighting for guests and products, along with significant savings potential in terms of efficiency and sustainability.
