The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is much more than just a traditional football stadium - it was designed as a multifunctional arena for football, NFL games, concerts, and large-scale events. The goal was to create an innovative, safe, and welcoming environment for fans, players, and staff. The requirements ranged from functional lighting to architectural lighting staging, reaching the highest standards in terms of flexibility, energy efficiency, and design. The Zumtobel Group developed a lighting solution that unites technical functionality and emotional impact. The lighting aids visitor orientation, enhances safety, and creates a distinctive atmosphere through targeted staging. In addition to the seating stands and player areas, the iconic façade was also highlighted. Through precise project management and close coordination with architects and designers, a well-conceived solution was developed that meets all the requirements of a modern event arena.
Over 77,000 luminaires for efficiency, design, and performance
More than 77,000 luminaires from the brands Zumtobel, Thorn, and acdc were used. The high-quality LED lights provide uniform illumination, long lifespan, and minimal maintenance. Products such as robust outdoor luminaires, efficient area lighting, and accentuating façade solutions were perfectly combined. The flexibility of the products allowed for seamless integration into various stadium areas – from technical rooms and VIP zones to the stadium's external appearance.
Sustainable technology meets future-proof planning
Although a fully customised specialist solution was not necessary, the Zumtobel Group placed great emphasis on sustainable and energy-efficient technologies. State-of-the-art LED technology ensures low energy consumption while maintaining high lighting quality. The implemented solutions contribute to a reduction in CO₂ emissions and meet current environmental standards. This resulted in a project that isn't just visually impressive, but that is also ecologically responsible.
