LED technology as a key to energy efficiency
A primary goal of the project was to sustainably reduce the energy consumption of the production hall. LED lighting solutions from Zumtobel were selected for this purpose, which are not only energy-efficient but also require little maintenance. The uniform lighting of the manufacturing areas with an average of 300 lux ensures precise visibility for all workflows - a crucial factor for safety and productivity in manufacturing.
Sustainable lighting design for modern industrial facilities
Volkswagen follows the principle of "From product to factory" – with sustainable lighting playing a central role. This concept was consistently implemented in the newly constructed Hall 100 of the VW engine plant in Chemnitz. Zumtobel provided a state-of-the-art LED lighting solution that significantly reduces power consumption while simultaneously creating optimal lighting conditions for work processes. The hall was awarded the DGNB Gold certificate as a result - a testament to future-oriented construction with a focus on light.
Intelligent lighting control reduces costs and enhances light quality
With the modular TECTON LED continuous-row lighting system, Zumtobel was able to deliver an extremely flexible solution. The system allows for a combination of dimmable luminaires, integrated emergency lighting, and individually adjustable light distribution. The DIMLITE system precisely controls the lighting, reducing operating costs even further, and allowing users to adapt lighting quality to meet changing requirements – a crucial aspect for modern manufacturing halls.
Energy-efficient lighting systems for ecological and economic objectives.
With this project, Zumtobel demonstrates how innovative lighting concepts can make a direct contribution to sustainable building. The lighting systems used are durable, energy-efficient, and contribute to achieving environmental objectives. Through the combination of intelligent planning, high-quality LED technology, and resource-efficient implementation, a flagship project has been created that is convincing both ecologically and economically.
